THE TAD SCALE

A better way of rating things. Dreamt up by Tess Aubrey Davis (TAD).

Our society relies on the 1 out of 10 (1/10) rating scale, but why? How much are we really learning? What is the rater’s “10”? It’s not nothing, but there’s a better way … ?

The TAD Scale:

(Experience) / (Expectation out of 10)

Who is The TAD Scale for?
Interesting and intelligent individuals.

How to use The TAD Scale
Before engaging with the thing you wish to rate (ideally), imagine your Expectation out of 10. After partaking, really mull over your Experience (#). Now, you’re ready to share your Experience and your Expectation out of 10… your TAD RatingTM!

(sounds complicated)

Let’s try out The TAD Scale
You’re about to ride a rollercoaster. You take a look (and listen) and evaluate that this will be ~7/10 scary. You ride the rollercoaster. What a disappointment.

“Hey, what’s your TAD Rating on that coaster?”
“3/7”
“You were silly for thinking it would be scary, but you’re right, it wasn’t scary.”

In the traditional rating system (now defunct), you might say “3/10.” … … …

Do you feel the sense of less now? Not knowing how scary you thought the ride was going to be?

3 = Experience / Reality, what really happened on that wimpy ride
_____________________________
7 = Expectation out of 10, ideally set before partaking but can also
thoughtfully be decided upon after
